Winter vacation in the Zillertal

There is always something to do in winter in Kaltenbach

It has often been said that the Zillertal in winter is unique and unmistakable - and this claim is absolutely correct. The pristine winter landscape is enchanting and one-of-a-kind.

Camping Hochzillertal is located only ca. 800m away from the Kaltenbach Hochzillertal/Hochfügen ski area. The free ski bus stops right at the campgrounds and will take you to the valley lift station. 181 km of ski slopes and 38 state-of-the-art lifts offer perfect skiing enjoyment for your winter vacation in the Zillertal. The Zillertal Arena ski area is also located not far from the campgrounds, and you can reach it easily with the Zillertalbahn, which stops only 100m from us.

Other winter sports

In winter, the Zillertal is a one-of-a-kind winter sports center. A well-maintained cross-country ski trail leads through almost the entire Zillertal. The various toboggan runs in the Zillertal, which are floodlit at night, provide a real adrenaline kick. Our Finnish sauna is perfectly suited for relaxation after an eventful day of skiing. Of course, you shouldn't miss out on après-ski after your skiing day in the Zillertal is done. Great fun and a party atmosphere can be found in the bars right at the valley station in the ski area.

Skiing fun is not reserved just for those who know how to ski - being a rookie skier is no problem here at all. The Skischule Optimal offers skiing courses for children as well as adults. For the littlest ones, there is also a "kindergarten", where we will look after your children while you carve down the slopes. Of course, you have the opportunity to check in on them at any time you want.

Ski touring is always popular - the Zillertal is an excellent place for ski touring. With a guide who will lead you out to the best trails, not only will you be safe but you will experience boundless fun, excitement and action, too.

For those who prefer a little less action while on vacation, the Zillertal has plenty in store as well. The cleared paths are ideal for long, leisurely walks - or you can try out winter hiking as you explore pristine trails and fields covered deep in snow.
